6.5x8-7/8” mailing envelope has “Captain Midnight” Chicago, Ill. return address at upper left. Trace of wear/aging, lt. handling creases from mailing. Mailing label has been mostly removed. VG. 6x8.75” manual with 12 pages explains use of decoder, secret signals, password and endorsement for Ovaltine. Manual has lt. handling wear. Card to order ring has been neatly filled out in pencil with loose perfs, but still intact. VF. Comes with 3.5x6” envelope with text “This Is Important Please Give This To Your Mother Or Father.” Envelope has lt. aging and wrinkles. Fine. Envelope contains folded letter which opens to 5.25x6.25”. Addressed “Dear Parent” mentioning “Enclosed Captain Midnight Secret Squadron Membership Badge And Club Booklet” along with heavy promotion of benefits of Ovaltine. Horizontal fold through center as issued. Exc. Metal decoder is 2 1/8” tall. Full, bright luster. Choice NM example. Nice complete grouping.
