18" tall cloth-stuffed doll. By Columbia Toy Products of Kansas City, MO. c. 1940s. Painted, starched linen face with hair, rest of outfit is cloth with lace trim around neck. Faithful depiction of Popeye's true love. Complete, original outfit. Comes with original 2-1/8x3-1/8" booklet tag that reads "This Is An Original! 'Comic Strip' Doll...That All America Loves." Inside is listed other dolls made by this company including Popeye, Swee'Pea and Wimpy among others. ©King Features Syndicate Inc. Doll has some slight fading to outfit and lt. trace of aging. Still VF. Tag is Fine. See item #2516 for Swee'Pea doll by same company. Scarce. Nice quality.
