Item Description
Two thin art boards, each 12-1/8x18-1/8" Copyright 1984 Copley News Service for distribution to newspapers and magazines. Each has 10-1/8x14-7/8" India ink image area drawn by Don Sherwood with text by Bill Owen. Each has paste on "Return With Us To.../By Bill Owen Don Sherwood" printed paste on text at top. First has hand lettered text "The Lone Ranger" text designed like wood bark and has classic image of the Lone Ranger on Silver at left saying "Hi-Yo, Silver!" with history of the radio show and image of Brace Beemer in black costume at lower right with mention of how he portrayed the Lone Ranger but collapsed and died on March 1, 1965 while playing bridge at his Michigan farm. Lower left has image of announcer Fred Foy at WXYZ microphone saying "A Fiery Horse With The Speed Of Light". Second has hand inked title "The Lone Ranger's Faithful Companion Tonto" with full figure image of Tonto at right with guns drawn and image at left of John Todd, a former Shakespearean actor who was Tonto's voice mentioning "He Was Age Eighty Before The Last Live Show" with quote from Fred Foy mentioning "Todd Would Often Fall Asleep After Delivering His Lines". Both pages are bright clean and Exc. Nice pair to frame and display together.
