Item numbers 1447 through 3204 in auction 204
Item Description
c. early 1900s number 4682. 13x13x1.75" deep box has choice lid graphics of black man dressed in patriotic clothes wearing straw hat and holding banjo with drum and cymbal in front of him at left and Ally Sloper-type character at right wearing fez and holding umbrella in left hand. Each image has huge head with wide mouth open and tiny body. Box bottom has slip over die-cut top which repeats same lid graphics but with holes at bottom for scoring using wooden balls. Complete with all six wooden balls. Inside of lid has instructions which mention easel "standard" to hold box up for play. Original appears to be gone but expert replacement works for intended purpose. Lid has lt. wear around seam with .5" bit of paper gone at lower right corner of top. Still displays Fine despite problems. Target surface has trace of lt. aging but graphics are strong and VF.
