Item numbers 1447 through 3204 in auction 204
Item Description
19x24” paper map. c. 1932. Map was produced as a premium for Jack Pearl radio program that began in 1932. Many colorful and amusing locations noted on the map including the Baron organizing the Northwest Mounted Police and Bismarck, North Dakota being named after the Baron’s favorite fish. Numerous historical events/places include the Baron at the Boston Tea Party, Salem Witch Trials, San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge and more. Also, several movie stars of the era make appearances including Jimmy Durante, Eddie Cantor, Jack Pearl, Joe Penner and Baron visiting Atlantic City beauty pageant. The few other examples we have seen of this map over our 45 years have been folded as issued. This example comes rolled, never folded. Moderate wear as such including lt. creases, scattered margin wear w/1" archival tape repair on reverse. 3" wide area along left margin has noticeable dust soiling. Map remains clean otherwise with great color. Would frame and mat nicely. Fine.
