Item Description
First is 2.5" tall with die-cut brass hanger of ship "Olympia" above medallion with his portrait and the image of his ship on the reverse which reads "Dewey's Flag-Ship/Olympia. 5,800 Tons." Two small flaws in the luster on the front. Second is 2.25" tall with six pointed star bearing his portrait surrounded by a wreath and suspended by "Welcome" hanger bar. Exc. Third is 2.25" tall with "Welcome" hanger bar suspending brass with his portrait surrounded by "The Nations Hero Admiral Geo. Dewey." Tiny paint speck off the one flag but rest is Exc. Last is 2-3/8" tall. The fabric where it joins the "Souvenir" bar is 50% split and the brass luster of the portrait metal has numerous rub lines and tiny marks but vast majority remaining. Reverse reads "Admiral Dewey Reception Committee Washington October" plus the Roman numeral date of 1899.
