Item Description
These are all celluloid buttons except the last one in row three. Sizes are 7/8" to 1.25". This group was chaired by Arch Bishop Athenagoras and Spyros Skouras formed in Oct. 1940 within two weeks of the Italian invasion of Greece. The group's goal was to collect ten million dollars to supply food, medical supplies and clothing. By Nov. 1940 over 300 local committees had been established. The program functioned for two and one half years during which these various buttons were produced. All are NM and display Mint. An in depth collection with numerous rarities.
