Item Description
8.5" long cast polished aluminum. Model of Maserati Speedster driven to victory by Wilbur Shaw in 1937 and 1939 at Indianapolis 500. Letters and signature are highlighted with red paint as is interior. Rubber tires are marked “Firestone”. Scattered lt. wear with some missing paint here and there. Fine. See previous item #1240 Indy 500 lot with Wilbur Shaw. Shaw won the Indy 500 in 1937, 1939 and 1940. The noted race car driver was President of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from 1945 until he passed away in 1954.
