Item Description
10.75" wide 17" long 8" tall overall painted wood with stenciled end panels c. late 1940s. One end panel has image of Sparkle Plenty sleeping and the other end panel has image of bunny rabbit holding flower. Made by Ideal, compete with 2-1/8x3" die-cut string tag which has art image on front with Dick Tracy saying "What A Beautiful Baby!" as her father B.O. looks at Sparkle. Text includes "This Is The Cradle In Which The Worlds Most Famous Baby Sleeps". Cradle has thin plastic side walls with ruffles and plastic covered cardboard bottom that sits on dowel rods. Two areas of ruffles are loose on one side and tag has moisture mark. Still displays Fine. Sparkle Plenty was born to Gravel Gertie and B.O. Plenty and she would grow up to marry Junior Tracy. Her birth made history and was followed by millions of comic strip readers. Great for display of the Sparkle Plenty doll. See item #2504.
