Item Description
1947 made by Ideal. 7.25x14.5x3.75" deep thin cardboard box has wonderful Chester Gould Dick Tracy comic strip art all over top and sides of lid relating to the birth of B.O. Plenty and Gravel Gertie's daughter Sparkle Plenty along with lid top photo of actual doll in diaper wearing dressing gown. Box has some dust soil with seam edge wear. Front edge panel has 1" tear but box is still VG/Fine. 13.5" tall doll has hard plastic head with sleep-eyes and yarn hair wearing cotton jumper with live skin body, arms and legs. Still pliable. Doll has lt. wear and is Exc., complete with 2x3.25" die-cut tag with Dick Tracy image saying "What A Beautiful Baby!" as father B.O. Plenty looks at Sparkle sleeping. Tag has lt.vertical crease. Fine. Also included is smaill slip of paper addressed "To My New Mother" w/cleaning instructions. See Sparkle Plenty cradle #2505.
