Item Description
Pair of heavy steel roller skates, each 3x12x3.75" tall w/wheel coverings simulating a rocket ship design. The top surface of each foot plate has incised Buck Rogers name and image of him flying through space. Also has 1930 copyright of John F. Dille Co. and name of Louis Marx & Co. Both have the original leather straps. Back end of each also has 1" dia. exhaust port-like opening which hold red reflector inserts mounted on aluminum discs. These inserts are missing pieces of the red plastic reflector material but could be replaced. Each skate has moderate traces of surface oxidation. Outer surface of each has aging to the luster w/some traces of pitting, moderate wear to the luster finish on top of each foot plate. Despite the aging and defects, appearance remains quite nice w/80% of original luster remaining. Fine. This is among the rarest Buck Rogers items and only the second example we've ever been able to offer. Our previous set sold for $2,300.
