Item Description
First is 1.75" tall figural white metal stickpin depicting Opper character Happy Hooligan. A rare piece c. 1905 and essentially Mint. Second is relatively common brass stickpin showing Mutt of Mutt & Jeff; however, the card it is on is extremely rare. As card text documents this was a premium from "Omar Turkish Blend Cigarette." Small text reads "This Gold Plated Pin Is Given As An Inducement For You To Try Omar The New Standard In Turkish Blend Cigarettes/Only One Pin To A Customer." Couple of small spots of blank surface paper missing from the card and minor crease but still intact and largely quite clean. The pin itself is Exc. Third is 1" tall figural enamel on brass pin depicting Krazy Kat walking and holding an enamel flag reading "If You Can Read This You're Too Darn Close." Good bit of the silver flashing is gone but otherwise Exc. Fourth is rare Statue of Liberty logo stickpin for the film company "Universal" which is inscribed across the base. Next is pennant shaped silvered brass pin reading "Ben Hur", although we don't know if related to the stage play, movie, or brand of coffee. Last is a beautiful 1" tall oval on 2-1/8" pin. This portrays a woman in a man's outfit standing on a stage with circular full moon and curtain draped in bkg. She holds a skimmer hat in one hand and other hand holds a cane and there is small red accent handkerchief in her suit pocket. Reverse text reads "The Whitney A. Loring Co., Chicago." VF and displays Exc.
