Item numbers 1447 through 3204 in auction 204
Item Description
1.5" litho without maker name has just the slightest hairline dent at upper right but still displays Mint. This character was created by television personality Pat McCormick while working at ABC-TV in Los Angeles in 1959. The horse character was inspired by Dennis Weaver's character Chester on the TV western Gunsmoke. Charley was a horse who wore a sea captain's hat while his partner Humphrey Hambone was a bulldog. The characters followed McCormick when he signed on with San Fransisco's KGO-TV in 1961 which was the "Channel Seven" station as designated on this button. Limited distribution and rare.
