Auction #182 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1499 in auction 182
Item Description
7/8" convex brass frame with a twisted rope design has a ferrotype at center with clear details and name above. Tiny hairline of emulsion loss removed the letters "GR" of his last name plus a narrow 1/8" hairline streak of emulsion loss on the upper right bkg. All details are extremely clear. With magnification there are a couple of gray dots mostly on the left bkg. but these don't show at all without magnification. The reverse is a flat sheet of tin which has a pair of tiny cut-outs that were once a pair of metal ears apparently used to attach this piece to some other object. Both ears are missing. Uncommon and still displays VF with clear details and nice luster.
