Auction #182 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1499 in auction 182
Item Description
1.25" tall high relief extremely detailed brass shell includes eagle at top with flanking flags left and right. Ribbon design below the raised portrait reads "E Pluribus Unum." Ferrotype is extremely clear with very crisp details. Its surface is just the slightest bit convex with an extremely shallow indent line running diagonally top right to bottom left but emulsion is 100% intact and this slight indentation is really only noticeable at all in reflected light. Metal surfaces are without bright luster but a very attractive deep golden brass. Reverse has 1" vertical stickpin. A rare piece rarely found with the emulsion this nice.
