Item Description
1-3/8" listed in Sullivan as GW-1789-9 and in Albert as AW1-14A1. This piece is the version in brass as opposed to copper. This is the classic and extremely popular 'Linked States' design which features Washington's "GW" initials at the center surrounded by slogan "Long Live The President," the outer border has a design of 13 oval linked chains w/each surrounding the initials of one of the original 13 states. Specimen has Exc. brass luster and patina, nearly all of the black accent color on the chain links as well as the bkg. of the slogan area. Reverse has a replaced shank of the era and very professionally attached so that it appears almost exactly like the original. A beautiful and overall Exc. example of a Washington classic.
