9x18" art board has 2x13.5" image area in center with designs for six different prototype badges done in India ink and watercolor. Each includes neatly printed name in ink. Images are Hop-A-Long Cassidy with guns drawn, deputy riding on horseback, Topper wearing saddle racing through desert, California with guns drawn, Marshall with cowboy on bucking bronco, Sheriff with cowboy on horseback leaping over fence. These were never produced but pencil names at top of board do match some that were made including Rodeo Trick Rider, Ranch Boss, Bulldogging Champ, and Roping Champ. Also includes name Lucky for badge that was not made. Art board has vertical crease just to right of center which just effects left edge of “Marshall” badge at left side edge, otherwise image area is bright and Exc. Comes with 7.25x8 1/8" waxed “Post’s Raisin Bran” wrapper which has wonderful image of Hoppy on front with text “Hopalong Cassidy Western Badge In This Package!” and images of 12 badges in series on reverse with young cowboy saying “Hey Partners! Get All 12 Hopalong Cassidy Badges!” with image of lower right of young cowgirl eating cereal saying “Gang-You’ll Want Every Badge Start Your Own Collection Now!”. Also includes a second partial wrapper which is trimmed to 5.75x7 .75" but includes additional text across top edge which is not on other wrapper “Look! Swell Full-Color Badge In This Package!”. First wrapper has expiration date of December 31, 1951. Some surface dust soil and lt. scattered edge wear. Bright and Fine. Art is unique and great to frame all three items together.
