Item Description
From the Ralph and Linda Kent collection. See item #2177 for biography on Disney legend Ralph Kent. Two items for each watch. Pair of 12.5x17" sheets each have original design in blue pencil. First has 7.25" diameter art of watch case with Roger peering out from center, second sheet has 8.75" tall image area of Roger Rabbit in car driving away tipping his hat with his wristwatch on back done as a design for watch holder as would be sold in stores. c.1980s. Jack Lindquist pair consists of brown folder which has hand-colored photocopy of art signed by Ralph Kent and dated 11/18/93 with text “To Jack, Best Wishes! The Disney Gang!” with happy Lindquist wearing holding Mickey’s hand being followed by Minnie, Goofy, and Donald with Pluto in foreground. Sheet is 11x11.5" with 7x7.75" image area. Second item comes in 13x18" “Certificate Of Verification” illustrated folder which has front cover art of Mickey’s hand drawing outline of his head. Inside is illustrated with multiple Disney characters and holds 11x17" color photocopy of previous item which also includes ink notes “Having 4 Made This Morning!/Pete, Note Spots Are On Copy Machine R” with arrows pointing to a few places around image. All items are Exc. and well done. Jack Lindquist was Disneyland’s first advertising manager and played a key role in making the park a world famous tourist attraction. He began working at Disneyland one month after the park opened in 1955 and moved up the Disney corporate ladder as Director of Marketing in 1965 and in 1972 became Vice President of Marketing for Disneyland and Walt Disney World. In 1982 he was promoted to Executive Vice President of Marketing and Entertainment for all of the companies outdoor recreation activities. He was named President of Disneyland in 1990 and retired on Mickey Mouse’s 65th birthday on November 18, 1993. He became a Disney legend in 1994. All items are Exc.
