Item Description
Box is 5x10.25x3.5" deep while the hollow rubber figure stands 7" tall in its current state. From 1934. All of the figures by the Seiberling Latex Products Co. were very susceptible to wear and aging due to their fragile nature and many are found collapsed and/or severely distorted. The Wolf being the largest of these figures was even more susceptible and while this example has obvious problems, it is the rarest of all Seiberling figures and one of few known surviving examples. While still displayable as is, head does have obvious wear with missing pieces primarily to snout and hat, all-over crazing, etc. However, it can be positioned to sit on top of the body which is relatively nice except legs are distorted and in a kneeling position rather than depicting him standing upright. The rest of the body remains structurally sound, paint is nice. Tail is loose but present. The box lid features a great image of the Wolf. Light trace of aging/edge wear but box remains totally clean and tight. Box itself is also rare. Fine. From the Michael J. Stern Collection. See Sieberling paperwork item #2380.
