Issued by Charles Gross & Co. of Philadelphia, PA is one of the most difficult of all 19th Century tobacco issues. 61 cards are known and feature players from four teams: New York Giants and Mets, Philadelphia Phillies and Athletics. Back variety featuring list of prizes obtained by sending in cards from this set. 2-3/16x3-11/16". Great image of Lyons, designated as "Right Fielder." Designated "Authentic" due to noticeable trim but the photo image retains great eye appeal w/a sharp and distinct image.
