Item numbers 1 through 1499 in auction 182
Item Description
1-3/8" white metal with near full luster on each side and rim hole as issued. A medal of the same design was used during the campaign but this is the version with reverse text "Inaugurated March 4th. 1885." Reverse has beautiful depiction of spread-winged eagle holding "E Pluribus Unum" ribbon in its beak and perched atop a shield flanked by 4 flags. Couple tiny luster dots missing from the reverse but overall extremely fine.
