Item Description
Three items for team that was formerly the St. Louis Browns, moving to Balt. in 1954. 11.25x16.5" newspaper dated April 15, 1954 titled "Souvenir Oriole Edition Home News" has bold headline "We're In The Majors Now!" Vol. 20 issue 13. Contains 20 pages including two pages on Babe Ruth who was from Baltimore. Numerous articles include pitcher Bob Turley, listing of home night games, and much more. Newspaper has horizontal fold through center as issued and is a bit brittle at edges of fold line. VG. Souvenir book is 8.25x10.75" with front cover showing nice cartoon Orioles mascot bird in spotlight on stage with field and stadium in bkg. Contains 48 bw pages including nice photos and stats of all players including Don Larsen, Vic Wertz, and Bob Turley. Covers have a few minor handling creases. Fine. Pages are VF. Survey booklet is 5-7/8x9" with 24 pages. Front cover has Orioles logo with bird standing on ball in front of crossed bats. Survey was conducted during July and August 1954 and obviously aimed at potential sponsors. Faint pinch creases along spine, otherwise VF/Exc. An early and historic group.
