Auction #205 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1426 in auction 205
Item Description
This is an original stiff cardboard 14x22" sign for the brief run of this anti-Vietnam War play written by Father Daniel Berrigan and performed at the Lyceum Theater in NYC between June 2 and June 26, 1971 for a total of only 29 performances. The play focuses on the trial sparked by events May 17, 1968 when Berrigan, his brother Philip and eight others used homemade napalm to destroy 378 files in the parking lot of the Catonsville, MD draft board. The play also became a 1972 movie. Berrigan is shown on the poster which has the most minimal traces of age tone in the margins. Very limited issue and only example we've seen. Exc.
