Item Description
Both are c. 1920s in high quality wood frames. First frame is 12.5x23.25" with archival mat with 7x17.75" opening revealing paper sign promoting "New Governor Size Jim Hogg Cigars Back To 5¢" with art image at left of James Stephen Hogg with text "As Good As The Man" with additional text at the bottom "Corona Size Three For 20¢." Overall size is same as matted. Schlegel litho text is under mat. Exc. as framed. Jim Hogg was the twentieth governor of Texas and the first governor to be born in Texas. He is best remembered for naming his daughter Ima Hogg. Second frame is 8.25x20.5" holding 5-5/8x18" thin cardboard sign with image of W.H.I. Hayes at left with his image incorporated into letter "O" in name of cigar made in Lowell, Mass. Printed by Kinnard Mfg. Co. Dayton, O. .75" split between letters M & A in "Mass" text. Still displays VF as framed. Both are nicely designed and ready for display.
