Item Description
1890s. 7.75x11.75x3.75" deep dovetailed wooden box has paper label on top showing Brownies getting ready to use large cannon. Label on right side is also titled "Brownie Artillery". Box is worn with a few slivers of wood gone from top of front panel, Good. Complete with ten Brownies, each 9.75" tall with paper images on wood and separate wood stands. Includes Policeman, Turk, Jockey, Chinese man, Uncle Sam, Seaman, Aristocrat. The standees match the ten pictured on the lid top. Standee with turban has .5" piece missing at lower left along with 1" piece of missing surface paper, otherwise all are VG/Fine. 10.5" long original cannon with two wooden balls in wagon has plunger action, works. Some aging but Fine. Nicely designed early set.
