Item Description
14x16-7/8" sheet of vellum has lead pencil and India ink concept art showing rear engine car from two different angles along with rough images of four cylinder aluminum engine and drive wheels. Art is signed at lower right "Cravath Jan 1946." Comes with small clipping dated January 22, 1947 titled "Rear-Engine Autos Possible In Year". Sheet has been folded four times as stored and image area has a bit of white-out in a few places as done by the artist. Center has some age toning. Near Fine appearance. Glenn Cravath (1897-1964) did the movie posters for "King Kong" & Columbia serials including "Batman and Robin". This early concept drawing was done when mass production of rear engine cars was considered a distinct possibility.
