Item Description
Linen backed poster is 27.25x35.5" with superb image of large eagle with outstretched wings ripping Nazi flag with swastika to shreds on rocky mountaintop in sunrise. Title translates to "Mexico For Freedom". Issued by Mexican Secretary of Interior. NM as lined mounted. Mexico declared war on Germany in 1942 after German submarines attacked Mexican oil tankers that were taking crude oil to the U.S. More than 300,000 Mexican citizens went to work in factories in the U.S. producing war supplies and some 15,000 Mexican soldiers fought in various fronts around the world led by American generals. A striking and powerful image.
