Item Description
Listed as Hake Third Party GDP5. Since this is from 1896, the starting year for pin-back buttons, this is obviously among the very earliest Third Party buttons. 7/8” displays multi-sailed ship with candidates’ names above and very tiny red text along the bottom edge “Pat. July 21, 1896.” This is one of W&H’s patent dates and reverse has their backpaper. A superb unfaded NM example displaying Mint.
