Auction #205 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 1426 in auction 205
Item Description
This button repeats the artwork used in advertisements to promote an anti Vietnam rally at Madison Square Garden March 12, 1970 to benefit Senators For Peace and New Priorities. The rally's primary sponsor was the Fund For New Priorities in America, a peace group that included congressional members Eugene McCarthy, Harold Hughes of Iowa, Charles Goodell of New York, and Albert Gore (senior) of Tennessee. The text on the button reads "Auspices Of The Fund For New Priorities In America." Marching naked, except for their underwear and a crown on Nixon's head, are Nixon, Agnew, John Mitchell, Melvin Laird, and one man we cannot identify. Very few of the buttons were produced and it is rarely offered. Our thanks to A.P.I.C. member Phil Shimkin for the information on this. NM displaying Mint.
