The United States Treasury Dept. founded the Peace Patrol in 1958 and tapped the Lone Ranger as its leader. Three items for "The Lone Ranger Program For The Sylvan Theater Washington Monument Grounds June 17, 1958". Includes 8x10.5" typewritten itinerary on United State Treasury Department Savings Bond Division letterhead. Text includes "10:32 The Lone Ranger Enters, Mounted On White Arabian Steed, Escorted By National Parks Mounted Police. 10:37 Remarks By The Lone Ranger." Mentions The Lone Ranger will honor 60 school children selected from the area who have "Done An Outstanding Job As Volunteer Salesmen For The School Savings Program. Each Will Receive Membership In The U.S. Treasury's Peace Patrol. 11:00 The Lone Ranger Rides Away." Comes with pair of 8x10" glossy photos from that morning's event. Both have Clayton Moore in costume. One has him with crossed guns standing in front of the Washington Monument. The other shows him on horseback waving to crowd with Monument in background.
