Item Description
7/8" button includes quoted text and "License Berliet." With immense profits from the early 20th century railroad boom, the American Locomotive company branched out into automobile manufacturing and secured the rights to the French Berliet car with sales beginning in 1906. The smaller wheel base touring car sold for $5,500 and the larger wheel base version was an incredible $8,800. Still, the company got off to a great start selling 30 cars at the New York City Armory automobile show. Reverse has backpaper from National Equipment Co., NY. On the reverse around the collet there is a hairline gap in the celluloid covering but everything lays extremely flat and from the front the piece still displays clean and glossy.
