Item Description
In the 1880s a small group of traveling salesmen met to discuss their mutual problems and formed an organization that in 1882 became formalized and known as "The Travelers Protective Association of the United States." The group worked to get their members cheap hotel rates and discounts on railroads eventually evolving into providing their members with various types of insurance. This piece was used by an "Alternate" to the 1895 event. Beautiful silver lettering which identifies the person as being a member of the "Indiana Division." Suspended 1.75" celluloid has illustration of steam locomotive. This names maker W&H and there is also a large cardboard W&H label on the reverse fabric. 9" tall from top to bottom of the brass wire fringe. NM and a superb piece.
