Item Description
These badges, two in brass luster and one in silver luster are 2.5" to 3.5" tall. All include initials standing for group name United States Railway Mail Service Mutual Benefit Association. Members of this group, founded in 1874, did the mail sorting aboard trains. Eventually the group became the American Postal Workers Union. The first piece is for a Chicago 1895 convention with nicely detailed steam locomotive pulling coal car and mail car. Small female symbol represents the City of Chicago. Next item has symbolic California bear at top and was for an 1897 San Fransisco convention. Third item showing steam train on hanger bar and buffalo on suspended piece was for a convention in Buffalo, N.Y. 1902. Very limited issues. Exc.
