Item Description
12" tall to the tips of its ears. The first Mickey dolls were made by Charlotte Clark in 1930. This doll dates to just after this. These dolls were produced in different sizes and with slightly different material, but the larger examples, like this one, had satin-like material used for bodies/heads. The face also has an even shiner finish and w/printed facial features. Ears, hands and feet are felt, pants have pair of mother-of-pearl buttons, bow around neck and long rubber tail. Underside of one foot has very faint text but reads "Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse George Borgfeldt Co. New York" as well as patent number. Trace of age toning to face w/a couple of tiny fabric snags. Slight fade to red pants which also have some light aging as do felt parts. Fine. Wonderful doll.
