Item Description
6.75x9.5" glossy w/photographers mark "W.R. Culver" on front and "Property Of Sporting News" ink stamp on back (in addition to "Sporting News Collection" authentication foil sticker). 24 member team are in full uniforms on field. Printed caption at bottom "Baltimore Orioles Six Time Pennant Winners International League 1924". News service photo includes future HOF great Lefty Grove two years before making his major league with the Philadelphia Athletics. Photo has pair of horizontal creases near top and bottom, possibly as done for cropping/printing purposes. Top margin edge is trimmed a bit unevenly and has narrow 1" strip gone at top left corner with .25" bit of missing service paper also at this area. Still a crisp, sharp photo and displays nicely as Beckett encapsulated and designated "Authentic."
