Item Description
Each is lead pencil for animated short released on January 5, 1935. Each sheet of animation paper is 9.5x12". First has 4.25" tall image of Max Hare ready to run in center, second sheet has 3.5" tall image of Toby Tortoise running slowly at left side. Sheets are numbered in lead pencil at lower right corner. First sheet is No. A121, second sheet is No. 362. Small number "TRX123" near Hare's right foot. Both sheets have tiny bit of aging at extreme margins, otherwise image area on both is clean and tight. Both are well drawn. This cartoon won an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, and is believed to have been one of the influences for the Bugs Bunny character.
