Item Description
Incredible limited edition piece issued by Another Rainbow in 1992, all of the highest possible quality. 6.5x6.5x7" tall custom carrying case has hinged doors, brass fittings and velvet lining. Opens to reveal the 5.5" tall egg. The shell is crystal. Dome is enameled lapis w/gold stars. Below, the shell has been etched and hand-painted with 23-karat gold. The egg separates in the middle w/lift off the top. Inside is Uncle Scrooge luxuriating in a tub of gold coins and wearing Sumerian crown. This sculpture is sterling silver - 92.5 percent pure. Incredibly detailed w/enameled paint on his outfit, crown is plated in 24-karat gold, as are his beak, cane, tub, and the coins around him. His body, textured to resemble feathers, is lacquered to prevent tarnish, while the urn behind him has intentionally been oxidized to a rich green, then protected with lacquer. Surrounding him are two amethysts, two sapphires, and seven rubies, that's counting the stones that adorn the Imperial crown and the Sumerian one. Egg is etched on the bottom with Theo Faberge's signature and the edition number. Barks signature is engraved on the base of the silver insert. Originally planned as an edition of 250, it is documented that only 100 were produced, but of those, only 73 remain as all others were destroyed by Another Rainbow. This has edition number of "102" on base and Theo Faberge signed COA. Comes w/all original packaging which has some wear but Exc. while all else is Mint as issued.
