Item Description
Run of the first eight issues (Numbered 1-8) from Jan. 1, 1937 to Nov. 1, 1938. Issues have between two and five mimeographed sheets. This historic publication is associated with two early legends of the hobby, J. R. Burdick (dubbed the Father Of Card Collecting) and Charles Bray (the first baseball card auctioneer) and both were also co-publishers of "The American Card Catalog" that would follow this publication years later. These early issues are the foundation of that book and mark the beginning of cataloging and identifying all types of gum cards, tobacco cards, silks, leathers, advertising cards, premium issues, souvenir cards, playing cards, stereoscope cards, etc. Issues include updates, checklists, collectors directory, etc. All have margin edge burn but are complete issue w/text not being affected. Good. Very limited print runs on these early issues which rarely turn up for sale (see next item #2991).
