Item Description
8.5x11" one sheet contract plus attached "Rider" sheet drawn up for The Moody Blues to play at Woodstock on Sunday evening Aug. 17, 1969. Zell Enterprises International, Inc. contract between "Umbrella Management Ltd." and "Woodstock Ventures" and dated June 25, 1969. Contract states they were to perform a 45 minute show between 9pm and 11pm for a fee of $5,000. Signed in blue ink by (only) Michael Lang, musical concert promoter, producer and artistic manager who is best known as the co-creator of the Woodstock Music & Art Festival. The Moody Blues were included on the original Wallkill poster as performers, but decided to back out after being booked in Paris the same weekend. Ten Years After and The Band played during the period originally reserved for The Moody Blues. Lt. handling wear, Fine. Comes w/pair of vintage Deram Records (their label at the time) band publicity photos which would frame nicely w/the contract for a superb display. Both are Exc. Comes with Hake's COA and Rockaway Record LOA.
