Item Description
21.75x34" die-cut cardboard store display w/unused easel back. c. 1930s. Art by Skippy creator Percy Crosby shows Skippy pointing to eyeglasses-wearing friend and saying "Tsk! Tsk! Too Much Studying And Not Enough Light. I Could O' Told Ya You'd Need Glasses." A similar display was produced showing Skippy w/string on his finger as a reminder w/ related text. Light edge wear. Scattered minor age spots. Reverse has original applied store instruction sheet mentioning "Everybody Likes Skippy." Some scattered insect damage along easel and at top, but this does not affect front, which still displays Fine. Still about as good as this vintage of store display comes. We sold another version of this standee in Auction #188 for $600.
