Toy consists of five-piece tin litho toy w/built-in key has overall size of 5.5x8.5x9" tall. c. 1930s. Similar character design to Mickey Mouse but with longer, rat-like features. Marx produced three different versions of this toy. This is variety produced without a marquee and mice band members are piano player, drummer, dancer and violinist. The piano unit is nicely detailed w/images of mice on all sides, the pianist and drummer's chairs have images of cats as does the drum head. Toy works and features great action w/all four of the mice moving as if playing instruments and dancing. Toy has scattered paint nicks/scratches. Overall appearance remains totally bright and glossy. Still a Fine example of a classic wind-up.
