Item Description
16" tall doll by French artisan Bernard Ravca, who crafted many different dolls utilizing an array of materials. His dolls were made in France 1924-1939 before he moved to New York City in 1939 and continued making dolls here. This Sinatra doll is c. 1950s. Great design w/papier-mache head, hands and feet w/detailed painted accents, wire armature body, wool sweater, cotton shirt and pants. "Original Ravca - Paris - New York" tag tied to hand. Lightly aged w/three fingers bent but not broken and all intact. VF. Great likeness. A Laurel & Hardy Ravca doll set sold at auction for $3,000 in 2009.
