Item Description
c. 1931. 11.75x18” thin art board has 8.75x16” hand painted and hand lettered image area. 7.5x10”area has top has a haunting and striking painting of Lugosi in costume as the menacing Count Dracula. Art is signed “E. Mayer” at lower right. Art board is lightly but evenly tanned. Lettering area has ruled pencil lines as done by the artist, otherwise image area will mat and frame to Near Exc. appearance. The film premiered at the Roxy Theatre in NYC Feb.12, 1931 and we believe this art was done around that time. A classic.
