Item Description
1.25" with backpaper of Baltimore Badge which is lightly tanned. Paper dates to 1904 or a few years later. All text on the button front is in Spanish and it leads off with "Viva Mexico!" The rest of the Spanish text translates roughly as: "Gift To The Mexican Public/You Must Consider Your Face And Use Reuter's Soap." We believe both real photo portraits show Porfirio Diaz. The younger photo we believe dates to his term in office 1876-1880 while the photo of the older man we believe dates to his later years in office 1884-1911. Button reverse has small speck of celluloid that did not fold under the collet but this causes no problem and the button displays essentially Mint. Only example we've seen.
