Item Description
The famous trademark and slogan to promote early phonographs was "His Master's Voice" as the dog stares into the horn of an early phonograph. This is a 1.75" pocket mirror with name of maker on curl "Cruver Mfg. Co. Chicago." The advertising slogan beneath the image is "Suspects His Master." On this, Nipper is replaced by a bulldog staring into the open funnel perched in the spout of a jug inscribed "Old Tucker Whiskey/Brown Forman Co Distillers Louisville, Ky." Photo is on real photographic tinted paper and does not include a dot pattern. There are a couple of circular dots, most on the perimeter, which came from the development of the image. Numerous but pinpoint dots of silvering off the mirror side. Great color and high gloss and rare.
