Item Description
First is 3-5/8x3.75" colorful card captioned "The Deering All-Steel Binder At Work." Text on back instructs "Any Farmer Needing A Self-Binder, A Reaper, Or A Mower, Will Actually Make Money By Writing To William Deering & Co., Chicago, U.S.A. Asking For Special Circulars" about the products. Below is ink stamp from local York Pennsylvania dealer. Minute corner crease but otherwise Mint. Second item is 3.5" dia. with pair of embossed silver cardboard covers resembling a coin. Front shows two women and two horses with piece of equipment surrounded by "The Deering Victorious In Every Field." Reverse has embossed designs of grains and the company name promoting their binders, reapers, mowers, and binder twine. Inside are seven paper sheets printed on both sides showing seven illustrations of farmers using the equipment along with details about each product and a cover page reading in part "Welcome Farmers Of The World, We Welcome You To Chicago, And To The Great World's Columbian Exposition." Moderate loss of silver luster from the outer covers but otherwise Exc. as made in 1893. See William Deering rare advertising lamp shade #914.
