Item Description
3-5/8x5" color tinted oval real photo without dot pattern. Reverse has metal plate holding original wire easel. 1x1.5" spot of black surface paper off the reverse. Front has photographically imposed giant white bulldog seated on a roof top next to the hand lettered inscription "Dog-On-Nicetown/Rushville Neb." Foreground is dominated by a giant windmill. In the bkg. is the town. Street is covered with carriages and wagon traffic featuring numerous horses and people while in the distance is a single early automobile. The side of the building below the dog includes a wall sign advertising "Owl Cigar." Undated but c. 1910. The celluloid is NM displaying Mint. Only example we've seen and most unusual.
