Auction #206 - Part II
Item numbers 1279 through 2976 in auction 206
Item Description
1.5" black on dark blue with small rocket ship above and mountain peak to left with small image of Dr. Huer looking over Buck's shoulder. Rare button from 1936 by unknown issuer but perhaps issued by local newspaper to promote the strip. We know of only three examples and all have staining. Surface is covered with tiny raised cello bumps although these are noticeable only in reflected light or to the touch and don't detract visually. Button does have tan stain dots mostly confined to the outer circumference and mostly on the outer edge but with a couple that go into the button face to a depth of about 3/16". Metal reverse has about 60% of the surface covered by surface rust stain while about 40% retains silver luster. Overall VG and one of the rarest of all Buck Rogers pin backs. The stain blends well with the blue background and neither of the two other known examples is substantially in cleaner condition. Rare.
