Item Description
This magazine, although similar in format and design, is not to be confused w/the promotional magazines issued exclusively by dairies from Nov., 1933 through Oct., 1935 (see following items #2074-2076). This is from a series that predates that series and was distributed by various stores/businesses from Jan., 1933 through Sept., 1933. Only nine issues were printed and all are rarely seen. This issue is Vol. 1, No. 3, Mar., 1933. Published by Kay Kamen. 5.25x7.25" w/16 pages, contents are in bw. Parade theme cover w/Mickey as drum major leading Clarabelle, Horace Horsecollar, Pluto and "Ruffles" doll character, shouting "Forward, March!" a clever play on words. Minnie Mouse appears at left corner, saying "They Certainly Keep In Step With The Times!" Contents include features "The Wayward Canary, Silly Symphony - The Bears And Bees" stories w/film scenes as well as other illustrations and cartoons. Back cover features Mickey & Minnie in ad for frocks for girls. Tiny trace of wear at top staple. Slightest cover wear/aging but a totally bright and clean copy overall. Fine. Contents are clean and VF. Overstreet value in Fine = $900, VF = $1,750. We have only offered a few issues from this rare series over our 46 years.
