Item Description
14x18" frame has 9.5x14" matte opening around the card stock sign. Sign has five different example cards mounted to it, each 3x3”. Issued 1930s/1940s. Sign is marked "Criss Cross Card Machines Manufactured By Calex Mfg. Inc." Text reads “Buy The Entire Series/Educational-Entertaining” with large 1¢ price at center. The cards in this series feature actual picture panels from Big Little Books which have been mounted to same size cardboard sheets. Individual cards typically found with gas company imprint on the reverse (see items #2746-2747). All five cards prominently feature The Phantom, the popular costumed crime fighter character created by Lee Falk. Mint as framed and ready for display.
